If your employees are using Salarium's biometrics system or the web bundy to clock in and out, Salarium can automatically compute the tardiness of employees. You can also set Grace Periods.

A Grace Period is a period of time after the start of an employee's shift during which an employee can clock in without penalty. An employee who clocks in during the Grace Period will not incur a deduction in their attendance, and therefore will not incur a deduction in their pay.

Please note that at this point, you should have already created Ranks in Company Setup>Organizational Structure. To learn more about setting up your Organizational Structure, click here

To set up your company's Tardiness Rules, click Company Setup>Time>Schedules>Tardiness Rules.

Click the Add Tardiness Rule button.  The Add Tardiness Deduction Policy form will pop up.

Select the Rank the Tardiness Deduction Policy will be assigned to.  Tardiness Deduction Policies are assigned to Ranks in the Organizational Structure. You should have already created Ranks prior to creating and assigning Tardiness Deduction Policies.

In the Grace Period field, enter the number of minutes for the Grace Period.

Select when the tardiness deduction will begin.

If the tardiness deduction will start from the beginning of the shift, an employee who comes in beyond the grace period will be deducted for the minutes he is late from the beginning of the shift.  For example, if your grace period is 10 minutes, and the employee clocks in at 15 minutes after the start of his shift, he will be deducted 15 minutes.

If the tardiness deduction will start from the end of the grace period, an employee who comes in beyond the grace period will be deducted for the minutes he is late from the end of the grace period.  For example, if your grace period is 10 minutes, and the employee clocks in at 15 minutes after the start of his shift, he will be deducted 5 minutes.
