Some companies allow a Grace Period on Tardiness whereby, if employees clock in within the Grace Period, their attendance will not be deducted. Salarium allows the creation of Tardiness Rules to set the time for the Grace Period. Different Grace Periods can also be assigned to different ranks within the company.
Note: Before proceeding, you have to ensure that you have created Rank Types.
To create and assign a Tardiness Rule to your employees by their rank, click Company Setups > Time > Schedules >Tardiness Rules. Click Add Tardiness Rule.
A form will pop up. Fill out the form to create and assign the Tardiness Rule.
- Rank – select the rank to which the Tardiness Rule will apply.
- Within Grace Period - define how long the Grace Period is, in minutes
- From the beginning of the shift – the amount of minutes to be subtracted from the clock-in, the result of which will be deducted from the employee's attendance
If the employee clocks in 8:38 am for the 8 am – 5 pm shift, since the employee has exceeded the maximum amount of tardiness, the tardiness rule will be voided and employee will be marked tardy for full 38 minutes.
- From the end of the grace period – the amount of minutes to be subtracted from the time after the tardiness rules apply, the result of which will be deducted from the employee's attendance
If the employee clocks in at 8:35 am for the 8 am – 5 pm shift with a Grace Period of 30 minutes, the employee will be deducted 5 minutes.
Click Add. Otherwise, click Cancel. You will be led back to the Tardiness Rules page.
