You can create both fixed and flexi-shifts for your employees.
A fixed shift is a shift when the employee will have to work a defined number of hours for a particular time schedule. For example: Employee must work 8 hours from 8 am to 5 pm. On the other hand, a flexi-shift is a shift where the employee may work "x" number of hours between a particular time. For example: Employee must work 8 hours any time between 6 am and 10 pm. To create a fixed schedule for one or many employees, go to Company Setup>Time>Schedules>Shifts.
Click the Add Shift button to create a new shift.
The Add Shifts form will pop up.
Name the shift so that you can recognize it when assigning it to your employees. It is advisable to name the shift with the shift time, like 9 to 6 (if the shift is 9 am to 6 pm), or something similar. You need to also put validity from and to dates for the shift.
Indicate the time work is supposed to start and the time work is supposed to end.
Since this is a fixed shift, select No in the drop-down menu in the Flexi-Shift category.
Define the start and end times for the Shift Break (lunch time) and the Shift Short Break. The shift short break is the total number of minutes the employee can be on break (like coffee or smoking) throughout their day. If they have two 10-minute breaks then, put 20 in this field.
Note: Only put the breaks in if the employee will actually clock in or out for them. If your staff takes small breaks or their lunch break but they don't clock in and out, then, it is not necessary to indicate it as such. Salarium will automatically recognize the break time schedules.
Click Add to finalize creating the fixed shift.
Now that you have defined the settings for the fixed shift, you can assign it to your employees. Click here for more information.
